We are delighted to announce the appointment of Canadian Geoffrey Brumlik to lead our International MA in Acting course and he will be back in Canada briefly in February to audition candidates for this prestigious course.

Geoffrey’s original training was as an actor in the University of Alberta’s B.FA. Acting program, subsequently performing at a range of Canadian theatres including the Stratford Festival, The Citadel Theatre and The Globe Theatre in Regina.

Geoffrey has a substantial history of work on the plays of Shakespeare, as well as a career long interest in the development and direction of strongly text based new scripts. His fascination with the power of language in theatre also led to his development of a much sought after practice as a voice, acting and text coach.

Prior to coming to the UK, Geoffrey spent more than a decade as Artistic Associate and Associate Director at one of Canada’s major regional companies; the Citadel Theatre. Prior to that, he spent three seasons as Artistic Director of the River City Shakespeare Festival in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Geoffrey also holds an MFA in Voice Studies (first) from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as a MA Directing from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is a world renowned in the field of actor training with alumni including Sir Daniel Day Lewis, Sir Patrick Stewart, Naomie Harris, Miranda Richardson, Mark Strong, Olivia Colman (The Night Manager and The Crown) Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey) and Theo James (Divergent and Golden Boy).
