The Last 15 Seconds

In the last 15 seconds before the explosion, what would you say to a suicide bomber?

In 2005, a series of coordinated attacks struck three hotels in Amman, Jordan.
3 explosions. 60 Dead. Over 100 injured.
Among the casualties were Syrian-American filmmaker Moustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima.

Using dance, music, projection and visceral physicality, The Last 15 Seconds explores cultural assimilation, terrorism and family through an imagined dialogue between Akkad and Rawad Jassem Mohammad Abed, the suicide bomber responsible for his death.

The Last 15 Seconds looks at the imagined lives and memories of both the victim and his killer as they revisit each other’s lives after their fatal encounter.

The MT Space, Waterloo Region's first and only multicultural theatre company, develops works that draw upon and speak to the culturally diverse Canadian community. For more information on MT Space and The Last 15 Seconds, visit http://www.mtspace.ca/
