Theatrical biography, coming-of-age drama, storytelling theatre, musical, minimalist theatrical tour-de-force, the highly-awarded international hit and Canadian classic, BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR, is an unclassifiable but phenomenal piece of theatre. The play explores the theme of survival while raising questions about war and about what makes a hero, what's different about Billy, and what is special about Canada and Canadians. But mostly it's just about having a very theatrical good time while celebrating a flawed but successful Canadian hero. It's been a great pleasure to work with this talented collective team and this terrific young company, Edmonton Repertory Theatre.
