NICOLE MOELLER - PLAYWRIGHT

Nicole is a writer based on Treaty 6 Territory in Amiskwaciwâskahikan. Nicole’s plays include: Without You (listed in SEE Magazine’s Top 10 plays of the year), An Almost Perfect Thing (winner of the Outstanding New Play Sterling Award, the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for Drama and Germany’s New Canadian Play Competition), The Mothers, The Preacher, The Princess and a Crow (Finalist for the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for Drama), The Ballad of Peachtree Rose (Outstanding New Play Sterling Award nomination, named Best Local Play of 2019 by GigCity). She was a contributor to The Mommy Monologues, This is YEG and the Citadel Theatre’s Encounters. Nicole is the recipient of the Edmonton Artist Trust Fund Award and the Alberta Theatre Projects’ Enbridge Established Playwright Award. Her work has also been seen in England, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia and Turkey. Nicole has been playwright-in-residence at Azimuth Theatre and Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre; she is a Journalism and Theatre Arts graduate whose short fiction can be found on a coffee cup or beer can, near you. WILDCAT was a finalist for both the Alberta Playwriting Competition and the Gwen Pharis Ringwood Award for Drama. A huge shoutout to WWPT for this incredible opportunity. It is an honour to work with such a gifted and generous group of artists. And of course, a thank you to my parents, my sis, my partner, my kiddos. And to Anna… I miss you.

HEATHER INGLIS - DIRECTOR

Heather Inglis took the helm of Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre as Artistic Producer in November 2019. A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, Heather is an award-winning director, producer, and dramaturg whose career has taken her across the country. In 2019, Heather was nominated for the Playwrights’ Guild of Canada’s Bra D’Or Award, recognizing her support and promotion of Canadian women playwrights via Theatre Yes. Heather has directed and assistant directed over 40 productions, many of which have been new Canadian works.

Credits include: The Shaw Festival, Citadel Theatre, Workshop West Theatre, Northern Light Theatre, Azimuth Theatre, Theatre Junction, Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre (SK), Live Five (SK), The Doppler Effect Productions (NS), Alberta Playwrights Network, Saskatchewan Playwrights' Centre, Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, The Notable Acts Festival (NB) and Universities in Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon. Heather has received Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Award (2014) for her work at Theatre Yes, the Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund (twice), the Celebration of Women in the Arts Award (twice), and the Telus Courage to Innovate Award (Edmonton). Nine of Inglis’ productions have been nominated for 17 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards, including 7 nominations for Outstanding Independent Production and nominations for Outstanding Director and Outstanding Fringe Director. Theatre Yes received a special Sterling Award for Outstanding Innovation in Theatre (2014).

MICHELE FLEIGER - DOT

Michele Fleiger is very happy to be working on Nicole Moeller's new play “WILDCAT” with such a fine ensemble here on Treaty Six territory. Michele is an award winning actor,singer and educator and has spent much of her career working on new Canadian plays and musicals. She has appeared on stages across Canada from St.John's, Nfld to Whitehorse Yukon, performed in Turin, Italy and Washington, DC and toured extensively throughout Western Canada. She is a proud alum of the University of Alberta receiving a BFA in Acting, and an MFA in Theatre Practice.

Michele teaches in the BA/BEd Drama program at the U of A and loves encouraging students to make bold choices as creative collaborators in the development of their own work. She also works as a sessional instructor at Concordia University of Edmonton. 

MARALY RYAN - PEARL

A veteran of the Canadian Stage, Ms. Ryan’s career has taken her to theatres across Canada - from New Brunswick to Victoria! An Associate Director for the Citadel Theatre, with Robin Phillips, she helmed the Artistic Directorship of the Citadel Theatre International Children’s Festival and The Teen Festival of the Arts.

MELISSA THINGELSTAD - GLORIA

Melissa Thingelstad received her BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta and has worked as a professional actor in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) for over twenty years. Her acting portfolio includes stage work, film work, and voice over. She has had the great privilege of working in Edmonton, Banff, Winnipeg, Washington, DC, London, England, and Halifax and is the recipient of three Elizabeth Sterling Haynes awards for acting. Melissa has also collaborated on new works for a number of multidisciplinary festivals in the city including: Visualeyze Festival, Storefront Cinema Nights, The Expanse Movement Festival, and The Kaleido Festival. Selected Theatre Credits include: Slight of Mind, Viscosity, The List (Theatre Yes), Stupid F@#cking Bird and Fatboy (Edmonton Actors’ Theatre), The Fever and Proud (theatre no.6), An Accident (Northern Light Theatre), Unsung, Here There Be Night and Kill Me Now (Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre), Three Sisters (Broken Toys Theatre), Age of Arousal and The Supine Cobbler (The Maggie Tree).

GRAHAM MOTHERSILL - JOHN

Graham is an Albertan actor based in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). LIZ ALLISON-JORDE - STAGE MANAGER

Liz is thrilled to be working on this timely, and humorous piece with such an amazing team. Recent Stage Management credits include Robot Girls, Tiny Beautiful Things and Bea (Shadow Theatre), A Hundred Words For Snow, Squeamish, Enough, A Phoenix too Frequent, Donna Orbits The Moon, Monstress and Radiant Vermin (Northern Light Theatre) and Songs of a Prairie Girl (Theatre Network). She is also an occasional Actor, Director, Producer and Costume Designer and for the last 18 years has been the Volunteer Manager for Edmonton StreetFest. In 2016 she started NextGen Theatre with her daughter and they have been producing Fringe shows regularly since, watch for them at Fringe 2026. Thank you for supporting live theatre in Edmonton! PAYAL JOTANIA - LIGHTING/COSTUME DESIGNER

Payal Jotania is a film and theatre designer from India. She is a recent MFA Theater Design graduate from University of Alberta. She is experienced as art director and production designer and has designed for commercial and feature films, television and TV commercials in the Indian film industry. She has received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from University of Mumbai, India. She is an emerging designer exploring use of textures and influence of colours in her designs. Her credits include The Devils (Set and Props Designer), Indecent (Costume Designer), Girl in the Goldfish Bowl (Lighting Designer), Rough Magic (Lighting Designer), Everybody (Lighting Assistant), Regression (Lighting Designer), Orlando (Lighting Assistant), Wildfire (Set & Lighting Designer), Scamway (Lighting Design).

JASON KODIE - SOUND DESIGNER

When asked for a third time to do a sound design for a Workshop West original creation, Jason eagerly said yes. Having been aboard for last season’s award winning “HORSEPLAY”, and “Metronome” in 2022, the decision to again join Heather & co on this journey was made swiftly. He vividly remembers the Gainer’s strike as a fresh out of high school aimless teen, and the ensuing Klein era of privatization/slash/burn. For him, “WILDCAT” resonates in a meaningful way. Jason is a member of several bands and projects and is grateful to be a working musician.
