BRAIDEN JANES

Braiden Janes (he/him) is a performer, educator, and emerging director working in Edmonton, Alberta on Treaty 6 territory. A recent graduate from the UofA’s BA Drama program, he is now pursuing an After-Degree in Education. Braiden thoroughly enjoyed his time Assistant Directing Elyse Roszell’s new play The Piano Lesson for the UofA’s New Works Festival, and is eager to share this incredible piece with audiences at Workshop West. Eager to direct high school productions once in a classroom of his own, he greatly values the opportunity to learn from such a talented and dedicated team of artists. Coming from a primary background in performance and technical design, this production has served as his first full-length directing experience, propelling both his knowledge of and passion for the craft. Recent directing credits include The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? (UofA’s Drama 483) and Bug (UofA’s Drama 383).
