Meet Karla!

Karla Trejo-Oliver is an Associate Instructor at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, where she teaches Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Karla is also a Public Health Nurse at the East Edmonton Health Centre

Karla loves teaching university students in her role as University Instructor, and is passionate about her work with vulnerable populations in her role as a Public Health Nurse in Edmonton, AB.

Karla also teaches Ashtanga yoga to seniors and other groups in downtown Edmonton.

She has a BSc. Honors in Physiology from the University of Alberta, a Master's Degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Alberta, and a BSc in Nursing from the University of Alberta.

Karla trained in classical ballet dancer, and studied piano and flute.
In her spare time, Karla enjoys using her skills for community engagement, and runs a very successful bimonthly literary Salon. This event brings members of various Edmonton communities together.

She also enjoys running, spinning, knitting and playing with her two puppies, Ramona and Renata.
