Elizabeth Sterling Award–nominated music director, composer and conductor Michael Clark is one of Canada's most versatile musical voices. His work spans orchestral music, musical theatre, and opera — bringing original works to life from score to stage.
Clark's orchestral arrangements have been performed by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Kingston Symphony, and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, while his compositional and theatrical credits include the world premiere of Once Upon a Frost, award winning musical Krampus and contributions to Broadway's Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn. As a composer and musician, he has collaborated with institutions including Lincoln Center, Banff Centre, and Goodspeed Musicals.
Currently serving as Artistic Director of the Edmonton Pops Orchestra and Music Director of the Edmonton Philharmonic Orchestra, Clark has been music director for over three dozen musicals and conducted hundreds of concerts across Canada. A graduate of the University of Alberta with additional study at Eastman School of Music, University of Nebraska, and The Juilliard School, he is a passionate storyteller dedicated to connecting communities through music.
