Sue is an Edmonton-based writer/performer who works in theatre, film, television and radio. Some highlights of her acting career (which almost spans 40 years) are: performing with her husband Kevin Tokarsky in the Linda Wood Edwards' play I,Diana, working with friend Eileen Sproule on The Tit Show and wildly ambitious Geek Love, playing Sandra Dee in Grease with Trevor Schmidt and Karen Cogan at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre, working with the fearless and award-winning cast on 4th Graders Present the Unnamed Murder-Suicide, performing with Linda Grass for 6 months in a wacky musical, discovering hilarious moments with Marcus Rosner on the film Coupled Up for Christmas and working opposite Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen for the Jon Benet film. Sue has written an award-winning television series starring Darrin Hagen, a book on families overcoming eating disorders, a full-length screenplay, a podcast series on inspirational women, 40+ pieces for CBC Radio, countless political speeches, 2 plays, and the screenplay presented tonight, Midnight Cry which was developed with the wonderful support and accountability of the Women's Script Writing Circle and Sue hopes to shoot this summer. When not performing, writing, or hustling up money for her film projects, Sue offers workshops to educators, supports caregivers who have loved ones with eating disorders, and works as a substitute behavioural assistant in the Catholic school system.
